Visa

Australia’s visa 500 needs a Genuine Student statement, OSHC insurance, and evidence of funds (application fee AUD 2,500); median decisions arrive in about a month, though some take three to five. New Zealand’s Fee Paying Student Visa requires NZD 20,000 a year in living funds on top of tuition; most complete applications are decided in three to six weeks.

Work rights

Australia allows 48 hours per fortnight during semesters and unlimited hours during holidays; regional study unlocks extra post-study visa duration. New Zealand student visas granted from November 2025 allow 25 hours a week in term time and full-time work during scheduled breaks.

Fees

Australia — undergraduate AUD 30,000 - 55,000, masters AUD 35,000 - 60,000 annually. New Zealand — undergraduate NZD 32,000 - 55,000, masters NZD 20,000 - 45,000 annually.
